7th Grade Overview
This year 7th graders at HPS will be imerge themselves in learning crucial Technology skills while reflecting on Health Standards. Each day the students will learn a new technology skill based on the Colorado Techbology Standards and a Colorado Health Standards. They will be descovering the social world through email, twitter, apps, and creating their own website.
Health Standards Addressed:
1. Physical and Personal Wellness
~Analyze factors that influence healthy eating behaviors
~Demonstrate the ability to make healthy food choices in a variety of settings
~Compare and contrast healthy and unhealthy relationships (family, peer, and dating)
~Analyze the internal and external factors that influence sexual decision-making and activity.
~Define sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS).
2. Emotional and Social Wellness
~Demonstrate effective communication skills to express feelings appropriately.
~Develop self-management skills to prevent and manage stress.
3. Prevention and Risk Management
~Analyze the consequences of using alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.
~Demonstrate safety procedures for a variety of situations

1. Creativity and Innovation
~Students demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative products and process using technology.
2. Research and Information Fluency
~Students apply digital tools to gather, evaluate, and use information.
3. Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Decision Making
~Students use critical thinking skills to plan and conduct research, manage projects, solve problems, and make informed decisions using appropriate digital tools and resources.
4. Digital Citizenship
~Students understand human, culture, and societal issues related to technology and practice legal and ethical behavior.
5. Technology Operations and Concepts
~Students demonstrate a sound understanding of technology concepts, systems, and operations.
