6th Grade Overview

 

This year HPS students will be introduced to both Technology and Health standards in a 6 week combination class. The students will experience the basic Colorado Technology Standards while learning about the Colorado Health Standards. 

 

Health Standards Addressed:

1.Physical and Personal Wellness in Health

LTLT: I am able to access valid and reliable information regarding qualities of healthy family and peer relationships. 

2. Emotianl and Socail Wellness in Health

LTLT: I will be able to understand how to be mentally and emotionally healthy. 

3. Prevention and Risk Management in Health

LTLT: I am able to demonstrate self-management skills to reduce violence and actively participate in violence prevention. 

LTLT: I will be able to analyze the factors that influence a person’s decision to use or not to use alcohol and tobacco and demonstrate the ability to avoid alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. 

 

Technology Standards Addressed:

1. Creativity and Innovation

LTLT: I will be able to demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative products and processes using technology

2. Communication and Collaboration

LTLT: I am able to use digital media and environments to communicate and work collaboratively, including at a distance, to support individual learning and contribute to the learning of others. 

3. Critical Thinking, Problem-Solving & Decision-Making

LTLT: I will be able to use critical thinking skills to plan and conduct research, design and manage projects, solve problems, engineer solutions and make informed decisions using appropriate digital tools and resources. 

4. Technology Operations and Concepts

LTLT: I will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of technology concepts, systems and operations.
